Teaching as an Individual

This option is for an individual who is delivering a qualification and not exceeding 40 students a year or £25,000 turnover. For this extension, it makes no difference if the course delivery is classed as short (i.e. one day) or long.

Corporate Teaching - up to 3 tutors

£158.68

This policy is hereby extended to indemnify the policyholder for the delivery of accredited courses. This will include a maximum of 3 teachers and 250 students per year. This extension indemnifies the insured member for allegations of negligence against them arising from the delivery of the courses and from student activity but does not extend to cover the individual student themselves if personally sued. If the treatments are being performed in and out of the school by trainers, cover is applied. ABT membership and extensions will be required. This cover is for where someone is a corporate entity and delivering a qualification, or where the person exceeds the individual option. For this extension it makes no difference if the course delivery is classed as short or long.

This policy is hereby extended to indemnify the policyholder for the delivery of accredited courses. This will include a maximum of 6 teachers and 450 students per year. This extension indemnifies the insured member for allegations of negligence against them arising from the delivery of the courses and from student activity but does not extend to cover the individual student themselves if personally sued. If the treatments are being performed in and out of the school by trainers, cover is applied. ABT membership and extensions will be required. This cover is for where someone is a corporate entity and delivering a qualification, or where the person exceeds the individual option. For this extension it makes no difference if the course delivery is classed as short or long. In cases where there are more than 6 tutors or exceeds 450 students, then a specific quotation from Balens Ltd (Schools Policy) is required.

To become an insured member with Associated Beauty Therapists we require you to hold a recognised qualification in the relevant fields you are practicing. For some of our slightly more advanced insurable options, the member must have a prerequisite to gain insurance. A prerequisite basically refers to the member having the core skills necessary, needed, or required (in some cases experience) to perform the more advanced treatment.

To become a member of ABT you will need to have completed and passed a Beauty Therapy / Nail or Holistic Qualification to a Level 2 standard or equivalent.

We also have an accredited companies section with hundreds of private, individual and post graduate training providers on our website that allows you to search for specific training providers that have been accredited by ABT.
